March 10:
Light lavender gray, with gold orange spots, or like lavender tea with honey at the bottom of the cup. it's very soft and subtle, with spots that are brighter than they seem. all the colors seem subdued by the overall gray tone like smoke over everything.

March 11: Fading from the lavender into a dusky gray with a thin ribbon of iron particles in clay. dark creamy red with orange light and brown shadows, jumps forward next to the gray.

March 12:
a lighter flushed gray, more rock than soil, with sharp white stripes and softer dark gray flecks. chalky and soft, almost powdery with darker brown smudges from the present dirt.

March 13:
Crumbly light brown wet from rain, like soggy bread crusts. Smooth and creamy beige with occasional rivulets of white and slight reddish hue.

March 14:
Shimmering gray, with a soft ombre of sparkly brown cascading throughout into another layer of grayed white.

March 15:
Soft off-white like dusty white velveteen with scattered spots of shimmer all over.

March 16:
Subtle opalescent harder sections set within a gauzy white dust and bone colored gravelly clumps.

Or, three days later. Sorry

March 6th:
Dusty, gray, with traces of pinkish red; like blush with dust on top. Small specks of sparkle all throughout.

March 7th:
Dark brown with purple or blueish red tone. matted grass runs throughout, forming a pale tan bundle.

March 8th:
Dark and wet, slick and full of dry granules of lighter brown that crumple into mud when lifted. spotty and uneven, with more silver specks.

March 9th:
Dark sparkling compacted brown with deep orange and warm cocoa colored inset in strips.

Catch up

February 26th:
Chalky dry dusty brown, like it has a layer of powder on top of it. occasional shreds of green grass, from the digging process. It steel feels and acts wet, but looks dried out.

February 27th:
moist brown, like flour-less chocolate cake, a sliver of translucent pink-orange as an earthworm comes along with the earth.

February 28th:
Soft, grayed down. dusty, but not in the previously noted way; more like it looks aged. strips of dried grass weave through the clod of dirt in a dense cluster of tan and olive.

March 1st:
Warm baked peeled orange (translucent rock) with specks of cinnamon and dark chocolate drizzle. Everything looks really delicious today. colors are warm and inviting

March 2nd:
Soil appears dappled today with spots of orange and beige and white with two bone white pieces of straw within deep orange-brown. Two primary concentrations of the color dappling, one orange, one beige, with the white lightly spread over both.

March 3rd:
Black stone with flecks of light and silver and one larger spot of silver. Settled on top of it are ruffles of russet red-brown. More of the webbing of soft bone-white straw.

March 4th:
Marbled cream and coffee tightly packed in a cup that is not big enough. Swollen with moisture and clumping into large packs.

March 5th:
Feathered tan plant mixed into reddish, almost bruised dark mass, jutting out on either side.

I will finish the catching up update tomorrow.

under the grass

Monday, February 23rd: The first layer of dirt under the grass is a rich wet brown, almost black. it clumps together and is filled with traces of dead grasses weaving between the thicker areas. Shadows are solid and black, while its lightest areas are speckled deep brown, like a dinosaur egg.

Tuesday, February 24th: It leaves dirty smudges and wet spots on the flushed pink tips of my fingers. It is still wet and cold; sparkling with ice and also with the minerals that lend it their color. Dark chocolate 70%. One time, a man told my friend as she was buying a chocolate bar that if she went any more concentrated in cocoa, it would just taste like dirt. I think this dirt might taste like chocolate.

Wednesday, February 25th: it keeps getting darker as I go down. It looks like a ground clove brown sky with ice stars faintly visible.
It seems atmospheric.

My internet at home was being a little wonky over the weekend, so I wrote these and am copying them over to here now.

Saturday, February 21st: acid green with soft mint and light ochre stripes thinly and evenly throughout with set-in specks of beige and tan and butter yellow. patches of lighter and darker areas all over, and the darkest area is a cool medium solid green with white accents and soil beneath. The soil is a subdued brown, with an allover gray tone, maybe 40% or so.

Sunday, February 22nd: Gray-brown, washed out and soft looking, with specks of white and lighter brown as well as occasional bits of color, in the form of trash. flashes of silver from a gum wrapper; white and black, a coupon.

I am digging a hole, fifteen inches deep, one half inch per day. each day the color of what comes out of the hole will be the color subject for the day.
